Resmed Usage data

Post by ping » Wed Oct 21, 2009 7:03 pm

I just started using the Autoset II for slightly more than a week. I am trying to figure what what does the USAGE data indicate. For example, "USAGE: 4:36hrs". I supposed 4:36hrs means 4hrs and 36min. But what does time indicate? Is it the therapy time or what? Anyone knows where I can find more info on details on Resmed data besides the clinical manual? Thank in advance.

It's known as "compliance" data, how often and for how long you use the machine, which also seems to be the only information insurance companies care about (as opposed to how well you're doing, whether your pressure(s) are set to an optimum range for you, etc. etc. I don't know if your machine also shows other things in the window such as AHI (the important one to look at in the a.m. to see if it's below 5, and by how much), as well as leak rates (whether or not your mask developed little leaks around the cushion, which affects your treatment. Does your machine have a "smart" card in a slot? The cards may only give the same information as shows up in the window - I'm not familiar with the machine, though others will be - but it also may have lots of other data, and if so, you could read all about it on your computer if you also have a smart card reader (generally has to be a specific type) attached to your computer and the software that interprets it all for you.
