New Here/ Data Card Question

Post by icecavs7 » Tue Oct 20, 2009 1:58 pm

Hi everyone i just signed up and also posted a question about water in the tube/a thumping noise when their is water in the tube. BUT this post I was wondering if anyone else had the REMstar Pro M Series CPAP machine. I had a card that fits in the back that is supposed to give you data on how you are doing with the machine. I have had it for about a year an a half now and keep forgetting to ask someone when i see the doc. Does anyone have a problem getting information to the card? if so how do you fix it or does a doc have to do it?

I am running on Windows XP. But i was more concerned with viewing the data on the machine itself. When the showed me how everything worked they showed me how to access the info on the machine through its display screen but it keeps saying i have no thearpy hours but like 18,000 blower hours or something crazy like that.

if you want machine LED data, then search for how to get into the clinical menu - wulfman frequently posts it

Caution: This is the clinician menu area where you can also change the pressure. Would be a good idea to jot down what you see so that you can put it back in case you accidentally change something.
Menu for M Series

1. Hold down the <- -> buttons while plugging in the power on the back, wait for 2 beeps, release buttons.
2. Press the + key. <- -> buttons move to next field, -/+ keys decrement/increment
Numerous fields so be careful
Scroll to this field and make sure it is ON

-Show AHI/Leak Feature = On (On/Off)

Press On/Off button to exit.

The machine only gives 7/30 day averages but you can reset that average to zero to get a one night "average" if you wish. If you do this don't panic if the next day the data doesn't show up immediately. For some reason it often takes most of the day before it shows on the screen.

==========Resetting LCD Display Data====================

To reset LCD Therapy data (does NOT erase any data from SmartCard):

1. Hold down the (<-) (->) buttons while plugging in the power on the back,
wait for 2 beeps or 5 seconds, release buttons.
2. Press the (->) key and navigate to Therapy screen.
3. Press and HOLD down the (-) minus key for 5 seconds and/or until therapy data is reset to Zero.
4. Press the (->) key to scroll back to main menu, press (+) key to enter Setup or
On/Off button to exit.

If you do this don't panic if the next day the data doesn't show up immediately. For some reason it often takes most of the day before it shows on the screen.
The LCD sleep data for the prior 24-hour day shows up once the machine's day, defined as Noon-to-Noon GMT/UTC, ends.

Here on the West Coast, a Respironics machine's Noon-to-Noon day ends at 5AM local time (GMT - 7 hours). If you live on the East Coast, the machine's Noon-to-Noon day ends at GMT - 4 hours or 8AM local time. If you live on the East coast and sleep from 10PM to 7AM local time, and check your LCD after 8AM local time, your machine's LCD display will report on all of your prior night's sleep, the full 9 hours. However, If you live on the West coast and sleep the same 9 hours, 10PM to 7AM local time, and check your LCD after you awake, your machine's LCD display will only be reporting on the first part of your night's sleep from 10PM to 5AM local time or only 7 of your 9 "sleep" hours as the machine's reporting day, for the prior day, ended at 5AM local time.

If you want to know more about the Respironics reporting "day" and/or the accuracy of the data displayed on its LCD, you might want to read the postings in the following thread:
