Dotty,

I hope you can post tomorrow to tell us how it went. In my case, and a few others who have posted recently, we only made it about 2 or 3 hours the first night. It took me a week to get up to about 5-1/2 hours. Today, between 7 and 8 is very normal for me. What I noticed is that my first 2 or 3 hours of good sleep left me feeling far, far better than 9 hours of the old bad sleep. I really felt like a new person starting on day one. Please don't be disappointed if it takes a few days to adapt--this can be a big change, and you may have a pretty big "sleep debt" to pay back.

Even funnier, since I was sleeping at night rather than drifting off all day long, I was actually awake during the day and able to get things done. I almost didn't know what to do with all my extra time each day for the first few weeks after starting CPAP. I had to invent projects to occupy my time.

It is great that you have a good machine from day one. I have the same machine, and I have found that it is built like a battle tank. I don't notice the noise anymore. The only thing I'd change on it is the bright blue lights, but since I am asleep at night, I really don't notice that, either.

Sleep well!
