encore pro and bipap pro 2

Post by steveinhouston » Fri Dec 31, 2004 10:02 am

I just got a Remstar BiPAP Pro 2 with a smart card, and I also have the Encore Pro software, version 1.4.87, with a USB smart card reader. When I use the Encore pro software to download the data from the smartcard, the only data shown is a compliance report (total time used on a given night, etc.); the oximetry report (which contains data about apnea events, mask leakage, etc.) does not appear. According to the manual, the BiPAP Pro 2 is suppposed to record this information on the smart card. Does anyone know why I can't access this data? Thanks in advance for any help.

Greetings Steve,

I will check with Respironics on Monday. Please email me at cpap@cpap.com and put ATTN Ted. I will email you back with a solution.

Ted

Hiya Steve,

I spoke to Respironics today and they told me that the most current version of Encore, the same version you have will indeed download all the data on your machine.

There isn't a second disk for the Bipap Pro 2 in any of the software packages.

You may wish to try downloading again and looking around the software to see if the event data pops up.

Please let me know.

Regards,

Steve, I'm so untechie I shouldn't even attempt this post, but... here I go! lol

After downloading the data from the smart card, try these steps:

1. doubleclick the date just downloaded
2. Click "full report" - "ok"
3. A "Report Viewer" window comes up. Using the righthand scroll bar takes you only to the bottom of the "usage" page.
4. Up at the top of the Report Viewer there are tiny up/down green arrow icons to see more pages ...use those little icon green arrows to go through the pages.

Not the user-friendliest software, by any means.

I save the file while still having the "Report Viewer" window open...saving it as a PDF file with a unique name. I can then browse through the same pages again in the future, through Adobe Acrobat Reader on my computer.

Thanks for the replies; I finally figured out how to get the report. The instructions in the "help" screens of the program are wrong and refer to menus that do not exist. As Rested Gal said, you have to download the compliance report from the smartcard, right click on the report, click on "view interaction report" and then click "full details" in the dialogue box that pops up. Thanks again for checking this out for me.

If I may ask, how many days does the card store?
