Re: My first night with FullLife
Didn't actually use it til last night - and boy did my numbers SUCK! AHI was 20.3! and leaked like a son of a gun! (avereage 52 and max of 105). Facial hair maybe the culprit? If so - back to my opus and taping! Haven't been without facial hair since my 20's, and not ready to start now (as much of my face as I can hide the better )
Luckily I did get the fit pack - so I will try a different size tonight. Overall, comfort was not bad - which I think is really good since this is my first ffm! No claustrophobia, no irritation, just not a good fit.
After my experience with the hybrid and now this, I am beginning to think I have a really freakishly shaped face!
But, I am not one to give up after just one try - so..... will continue until it works, or doesn't!

Re: My first night with FullLife
I recently bought the Full Life, and in spite of reading the reviews, Guest, mentioned, I am interested in the opinions of people who have tried it. Finding a mask that fits is almost a universal problem. A good factor about this forum is that the members are willing to share their views of masks & how they fit. I find it to be potentially a good mask, but I am having the "Raw Nose Syndrome" that others have mentioned. B.B. has the best suggestions for working with this mask, I have used the moleskin. I have sensitive skin, and am looking for additional ways to protect my tender snoz.Guest wrote:Cygnusia, nevermind your review of the FullLife. We don't need it now. We heard recently from 45 people who thought the Quattro is "better."
Good luck to you, and I appreciate your thread on the FullLife mask.

If the mouth leaks cannot be fixed, you might try the RespCare Hybrid mask that covers the mouth and has nasal pillows, does not cover the nose or touch the forehead. It comes with 3 sizes of oral cushions, 3 sizes of pillows, and the pillows can be set at 2 heights -- makes getting a good fit pretty easy.Cygnusia wrote:...leaks are coming from the corners of my mouth...

Never, never, never, never say never.
Never, never, never, never say never.
And the search continues... :(
Well... last night was a deal breaker. Up at 3:30 this morning with what basically felt like gale force winds hitting me in the face. It seems like every night I was having trouble getting a good seal on the mask and last night was definitely the worst. The mask was soaked and cleaned in soapy water yesterday (baby shampoo), and I made sure to give my face a good scrubbing before putting it on.
I knew I was in for trouble when no amount of adjusting the straps would alleviate the leaks. Nothing I could do would keep the very bottom of the mask leaking. Every inhalation would puff air out either one side or the other. The slightest tug on the hose would prompt a blast of air.
I go for my followup tomorrow... I guess back to square one for me.

Re: My first night with FullLife
It took me about an hour on Saturday afternoon to realize the FullLife wasn't for me.
Howling leaks into both eyes. I could alleviate them by moving the mask down further on my nose, but that caused leaks at my cheeklines.
So it's back to the Hybrid. The good news is the FullLife is already fetching more on CPAPAuction than I paid for it. (Unless you count shipping and seller fee...sigh) Still it was a cheap trial!

Re: My first night with FullLife
I'm thinking about attempting the Quattro again. My first time with it was a miserable experience, but it was my first night EVER on a mask, wired up and in a strange bed... plus, it was a medium and leaked quite a bit.
I definitely feel most comfortable in a full face mask, and maybe the Quattro will do well for me with a small size. Does anyone have any suggestions for popular ffm's? My DME seems a bit hesitant with supplying me a hybrid (I know they don't have any Innomed/Respcare Hybrids in stock) because the fitting is more complicated, but I can't stand stuff sitting on my upper lip anyway... I've figured that out just from using the Activa.

I really like the ultra mirage ffm. I have tried just about every other mask there is. The quattro just did not work for me. The ultra mirage also has quick clips at top and bottom of the mask. Give it a try.

Re: My first night with FullLife
Night two for me was just a tad better - as far as leaks go.... but AHI was still 20+... that is on average 8 to 10 times higher than on the opus 360.... And, even with mole skin - bridge of my nose is sore and now has a small bump/lump on it. Think this is not for me! Well, at least I have my opus to fall back on.
Another thing that I thought I would like about the FullLife - thought I could wear my glasses to read before going to sleep - guess again!
May have to check into selling it on CPAPAuction... Gently used - only 2 nights.... hmmmm does that sound like a good tag line?

Went back to my opus last night - AHI 3.4, leak in the low 30's (well within range).... I guess I am just not cut out for a ffm.
