Quick Disconnect

I'm trying to figure this out: The hose connects to my machine by friction, the rubbery surface holding semi-tight to the mounting. Same at the mask end -- it holds onto the right-angle joint thingy by friction.

Is there a downside (e.g., wear and tear, or maybe weakening subsequent connections) to just pulling the hose off and pushing it back on at the friction connection?
