Try wearing the Swift loosely for more comfort. I don't even notice wearing it anymore and can sleep through the night without any discomfort.

Hooray! I'm glad my advice didn't steer you wrong.dkeat wrote:Well that "nasal splinting effect" seems to be my salvation. Last night I tried the Breeze and the Swift and the Swift is swift all right. Apparently you are all right in that the air blowing into the nose opens the nostril and makes it easier for me to get air than without this effect.
I read your PM's, but hadn't got to this thread until later so I didn't know you'd actually tried it and that it worked for you.
The Swift works very well for me, but I'm really starting to get an itch to try the Aura. Its a curse; an addiction I tell you!

Yes, I heard that on the video, too. If I'm not mistaken, that video was produced by cpap.com, not by the actual makers of the Breeze - Puritan Bennett.....so....... cpap.com's notion that nasal pillows aren't good for "slotted nares" lives on.dkeat said wrote: wouldn't swear to it but I thought that I heard the caveat about the slotted nares from one of the videos for the Breeze on cpap.com, but I won't swear to that.
That's a helpful video in all other respects, but the caveat about slotted nares needs to be removed, imho. At least the video (unlike the sizing guide) said pillows might work for some slotted nares, but then went on to say they wouldn't work for "these" (and showed an example.)
I just think it's funny. One of the other guys on the forum said the other day that he got real excited about trying someone's suggestion for tweaking a mask and how it's funny that he could get so excited about that. He said, life used to be so much more interesting.WAFlowers wrote:Should we form as SIGPAP, SIGMASK, SIGOSA, SIGsomethingelse ??? .dkeat wrote:(sheesh, we really are a "special-interest-group" !
I had a similar thought as I spent hours reading through all the posts on the various masks. I caught myself getting really aroused at the description of the Aura - softer cushions than the Swift, no hoses on the side.
I really have to try that one sometime!

Yes, do! I just got a new one (stocking up on 'em, I like it so much! heheh) and noticed something interesting.I caught myself getting really aroused at the description of the Aura - softer cushions than the Swift, no hoses on the side.

Aeiomed is now making the lockbox in clear plastic instead of the beige plastic of the original. It looked like the configuration of the top straps has been changed a bit, too, but I can't swear to that given that I chopped the headgear off my others.
Anyway, the clear plastic gives a much lighter weight appearance to the Aura. They need to put the picture of the clear plastic one on their website. Much more appealing looking. That is...if any cpap interface can be called appealing...much less arousing! ROTFL!!
You're right, David! It's a specialized world of rarefied air we live in nowadays. (crazy hobby!)
