Good to see a post from you, my friend. Glad all is well in Oz. Maybe one day the healthcare system in America will catch up. Glad you are in a place that cares about it's people.

An Update
Re: An Update
Thanks for all your kind words. I lurk on here from time to time, and I'm glad I finally took the time and posted.
I don't think so. At my next appointment with the ENT I'll ask him about recovery.tattooyu wrote:Can you use CPAP when healing from a tonsillectomy?
Yup, he warned me about that. Being that I'm still only young, it seems to me that 2 weeks of hell to then be able to be on a lower pressure for the rest of my life would be a good tradeoff.DSM wrote: Am balking at going ahead as she says it takes 2 weeks of hell to recover from the tonsilectomy. Did you get any warnings about that ?
Well, breathing is kinda important to me. I guess I just know that my machines go sky high without a limit, and that I'm probably getting flow limitations or at least something interfering with my normal breathing. It could just be that the way I breathe confuses the algorithm, but I'm more inclined to think that the machine believes there's a permanent obstruction in my airway. It'd be silly of me at 26 to live the rest of my life without having the biggest airway I can have.Slinky wrote:Goshes, if your AHI is "just" 1 or 2 you're still willing to consider surgery??? You've got more guts than I have, my man. I'm such a pansy and a wusp about pain and never volunteer for it!
Yeah, got a bit trigger happy on the 0 key. Try 7,000.Wulfman wrote:That's about 24 years of use at 8 hrs. per night.
Exactly my thoughts. And especially that it's now amazingly cheap, I might as well take the opportunity.ozij wrote:OTOH, that's what you're at at 26, blarg. It might be easier and better to do it now than in you fifties.
Me too! Everyone's on in the morning when I'm at work, and then when I get home and have time to actually read posts, there's 20 million of them and you'se are all asleep. One of the biggest things I miss is the chat room.rested gal wrote:Gosh we miss you here. We're grateful for any chance you have to drop in....just wish it could be more frequently.
Yeah, I have a different perspective on the two healthcare systems since I've used both a fair bit. I don't really want this thread to turn into an Australia vs US thread though, so if anyone wants me to do up a comparison, PM me and I'll compose one. It'll be a different thread so that the flaming is contained there.JeffH wrote:Maybe one day the healthcare system in America will catch up. Glad you are in a place that cares about it's people.
I'm a programmer Jim, not a doctor!

Re: An Update
Congratulations on everything!
PS. Would love to read whatever you had time to post about US vs Australian health care.

Well you do have a rainy long week-end coming up - that would be one way to spend it
It really is good to see you posting here again, even if in passing (which hopefully it won't be).
Cheers

PS I meant to suggest you check your filter after the 2 big dust storms. My Bipap Auto SV was nearly blocked & I only switched back to it after the 1st worst storm. In fact I'll post a topic for Aussies to do the check post red dust attack.

Thanks, it's good to be back. We'll see how I go I guess.dsm wrote:It really is good to see you posting here again, even if in passing (which hopefully it won't be).
As far as the dust storms, I had JUST cleaned off our two balconies the night before. There's still red dust everywhere. My filter's alright though.
