Respironics ChinStrap is a rip off......I paid $30.00 for it

Which one did you try? I have had pretty good luck with the Premium chinstrap, combined with mouth tape. Chinstraps by themselves do not prevent air from escaping through your lips. There is another good chinstrap made by the folks at Pur-Sleep.com. You might try that one.

a chinstrap can be made from a roll of elastic or some pantyhose, but at best, it can only remind you to keep mouth shut.

can also help with a full face mask to stop
"opening wide" in sleep and so breaking airseal
