Mask stayed on all night

Post by Cygnusia » Thu Oct 01, 2009 7:54 am

Well, after a rough start last night (apparently, chinstraps are NOT for me) I managed to get to sleep using the Activa LT, complete with leakiness since I'm still trying to get things fine tuned.

I was still wearing it when the alarm went off this morning! I was constantly taking off the Swift LT about 3-4 hours in, but with the nasal mask I don't seem to have as many problems or mouth leaks.

As for the mask leaks, if I put it on loose enough for the cushion to expand properly, I get a LOT of leaks, and this is with a small mask! I'm going to continue fussing with it to see if I can get a good seal... I have a few more days until I go in for more mask testing, so I can at least give the Activa the same amount of time that I gave the Swift.

On a good note, my 7 day average for AHI is down to 5.8!

Certainly sounds like you are making good progress!

Hang in there! It will get easier and that AHI is coming down!

YES! That's awesome. Keeping it on all night is a major hurdle for a lot of people. I was one of the lucky ones; I think I was just TOO SCARED to dare take it off!

Sleep well and live better!

Just called my sleep center, and I've scheduled a mask fitting on Tuesday... I'm gonna get to try out a FullLife! It'll be a loaner, of course, but I have a lot of hope for this one!
