hi,
if i were you i'd change doctor, get someone who is prepared to investigate you in more depth. they need to find the cause of the problem not just give you sleeping tablets, they will probably be making you feel worse. enquire aroung find a good doctor & get him to investigate you properly.
good luck & let us know how you get on, jean.

If you are trying to sleep using sleeping pills with untreated sleep apnea you are just making the problem worse. Could even kill you. Find another DR . go to a ENT or Pulminary Doc. and have it checked out.

Cheers,

Chris

JJ, I noticed that the title of your post is "Positional Sleep Apnea". Is that what the doctor said you have? Have you ever had a formal sleep study in a sleep clinic or hospital sleep lab? Has any doctor prescribed a cpap machine for you to use at night?

Stop the pills NOW. Get a referral for a sleep specialist. Get a different family doctor. Try sleeping inclined, even to 45 degrees. Try cammomille tea before bed instead of the pills. We're here to help. Between us we've got A LOT of experience. Read through the posts on this site. They'll help answer some of your questions, if not most of them. IF you have any others, we'll do our damndest to help you.
