Uhhhhh... went to order my card reader and software.. Serial port connector or serial bus connector???? My computer is a dell. Can either work or is one better??

I use the USB card reader.

Get the usb (universal serial bus) connector. It's faster, more modern, and a much better interface in general than the older serial interface. It will simply be plug and use. With plain serial you might have to mess with com ports etc. If you aren't familiar with those things it may be more difficult.

And some laptops don't even have serial ports.... USB is the way to go - will serve you on future computers too.

You can get the software here for $99 and the reader DT3500 from China, Mako, http//2factors.com/ for $30 (1 week ship time). Saves you $70 if interested...that's for the Encore pro and reader. Don't know which one you need. USB is best I think too.
