Ok, that makes sense. The ResMed reports the actual administered pressure instead of assuming like the Respironics M-Series Pro.

Now if I could just figure out why the pressure graph drops off like that the last 30 mins, I will be all set.

Just to clarify:
I wake up, turn off the machine, remove the elbow from the liberty and then remove the mask. No SmartStart/Stop. The only thing I can guess is the light breeze blowing through the machine after your turn it off, is being counted for therapy.

At this point, it's worth a call to ResMed for an answer. Keep us posted.

Good idea. I will give them a ring around lunch time (since I am east coast and they are west).

Do be sure to let us know what Resmed has to say!

"We are not at liberty to discuss the details of interpreting the results of ResScan reports, with patients, as they are intended for Clinician and Doctor use only. By the way, how did you get it?" -- a la ResMed.

My answer to their response:

"Sorry, I am not a liberty to discuss that with you. Bye."

Well, that didn't work . What jerks! Could be a machine malfunction...might try calling product support/tech help and see what they say..oh right, it might be the corporate policy shoved down everyone's throat...but if you keep insisting that you want to know if the machine is malfuctioning and possibly not delivering the proper air pressure...catch my drift here?

I will try to play that angle, but I can't help but thinking that I saw another thread on here recently where someone called ResMed with a technical issue and they told them to see their DME about it.

Wow! The climate sure has changed at Resmed!!! And NOT for the better. This is so foreign from when I had to contact them a year or so ago. I wonder if the change in "attitude" has to do w/the change in CEO??? If so they certainly are NOT doing themselves any favors!

Kevin,

In regards to the 30 minute display:

I believe that the resmed machine records data when the machine/blower is running. Because resmeds have a "cool down" period when you turn them off (to dry out the hose - so I've been told), it continues to collect the data. The machine blows very little air through the system during the cool down time, so the pressure would be essentially zero.

I have nothing to back any of this up other than my own observations and a couple of posts from a couple of years back

Great numbers, by the way.

That was what I was thinking but I was curious if anyone else thought that. Thanks.

Thanks.I guess I was one of the lucky ones who was titrated close to my real pressure and found a mask that works.

The Resmed S8 Elite w/EPR, the Resmed S8 AutoSet Vantage and the Resmed VPAP Auto do NOT continue to collect data once you shut it off despite they continue to run at low speed to dry out the air in the hose and humidifier. I see no reason why the S8 IIs should do so.

I had AutoScan 5.7 and ResScan 3.3, 3.4 and now have 3.7 and I've never encountered this in any of my graphs.
