I need to find a mask that doesn't sit on my upper lip. My upper incisors are being pushed back into my mouth, causing them to rub on my lower front teeth and premature wear.
The orthodontist is creating an appliance that will move my teeth forward, but I don't want a mask sitting on my lip, pushing against the appliance. I'll have to wear it 24/7, then get a rigid bite guard.
I've been using the Swift LT, but it eventually finds its way onto my lip.
I've borrowed an Opus and it seems like it'll do the job, but have the Headrest on order & that'll take 2 months to get here. Is it worth waiting for?
If you've tried either or both masks, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks in advance for your input. This forum has been invaluable to me and once again, THANK YOU!

Re: Opus vs Aura Headrest
I have used both and prefer the Headrest/Aura.
I couldn't get the Opus to seal as well and my leakage was greater with it than with the Headrest.

Same here. But if I were you I would try the Opus, because it is easier to keep away from you lips than even the Headest.sleepycarol wrote:I have used both and prefer the Headrest/Aura.

I keep the Opus tube in a floating position, which is why the seal isn't so good for me -- I don't connect it to the headgear because when I do that, the tube is too tight on my head.

I've tried both and prefer the Headrest. It's the only mask which vents upwards.
Unless money is a serious issue, I'd recommend ordering the Headrest online - it's $59 at http://www.youneedsleep.com

Re: Opus vs Aura Headrest
Thanks for the responses.
I have been having trouble keeping the Opus from leaking but thought it might be the size pillow I'm using. I have a medium, which is the same size as what I use on my Swift LT. I like the Opus pillows as they seem to have a larger opening in the pillows than the Swift's. I feel like I'm getting more air. My IPAP is 13 & EPAP is 9.
Not really wanting to spend $59 at this point b/c I just paid the Orthodontist the first installment.

Re: Opus vs Aura Headrest
Your xPAP pumps just enough air to maintain the set pressure. The size of the openings in the mask has no effect on this.
But it just may feel different to you.

'Feel' being the operative word here. Yes, I do agree.
