Visit to doctor today

Post by sleepyprm » Wed Jul 01, 2009 7:22 pm

Well, I visited the doc today, expecting to be treated with a condescending and dismissive attitude, but thanks to all I have learned from this forum, I went in with the spirit of collaboration and talked with him about how I am doing. I asked many questions that I never would have even known to ask in the past. He answered every question thoroughly. I told him I need a new machine, and specifically that I wanted the data-capable machine (Remstar Pro). He wrote the prescription immediately, and said he wished that all his patients were as interested and involved in their treatment as I am. I wasn't really looking for his approval, but wanted my new machine, and was willing to try to establish a good relationship so we both can continue to improve my health. I also was able to confirm that my insurance covers 100% of the new machine (I still need to get the software and card reader, but I expected that). I am SO happy, and I can't thank you all enough for sharing your wisdom and helping educate me on my condition and how I can take control of my own treatment. YOU ROCK!!!

Good for you!

I hope we could all have doctors like yours. I had to educate myself here too and then find a doctor that would know what a data capable machine was.
