Apria seems to have a new approach

Post by elader » Thu Jun 25, 2009 4:59 pm

So I have dealt with Apria for the last 10 months in terms of ordering supplies. Patience was a virtue - conflicting info on what I was entitled to, wrong sizes in their databases, just a horror every time I spoke to them. Yesterday I went on line to pull down their phone number and they have this new web page for cpap supplies. I called the contact number and it was amazing. The very nice man was informed, pleasant to talk to, looked me up i the database, told me it was time to send me a mask, hose, filters, suggested the humidifier chamber (its 10 months old) - Really a nice experience. I think they finally realized that they MAKE MONEY when they sell you stuff. Amazing it took them this long to get on the stick about this.

check it - http://www.apria.com/services/1,2905,523,00.html

now of course if you have to pay for your own stuff, their prices are ridiculous...

Been there, done that. Didn't work.

Last time I ordered anything from Apria I used this system. Stuff I ordered never came, what did come was wrong. Took about 2 months to get it all straightened out. That was also the last time I ordered anything from Apria. Yes my insurance will pay for my stuff if I use them, but when taking into account the time and effort of fighting them over wrong items I would rather order from cpap.com and know what I'm getting! I'm far from rich and have to be careful with my money, so I buy used when I can. I would rather work the extra hours to pay for my needs than deal with Apria.

I will agree that it is a very nice web page.
Sounds really good.

Did you actually place an order w/the very nice man???
Did you actually get what you ordered??

I'm a bit of a non-believer.

I'm getting ready to order a bunch of stuff from the Big A.
I harbor no fantacy that all will go well.
I'll just keep at it until I get what I want.

As I approach 1yr on cpap, I have a backup for every piece of required equipment.

It's a journey in so many ways.
