10 Hours Sleep!

Post by Komodo » Mon Jun 22, 2009 3:20 pm

Last night, for the first time in well over two years, I got 10 hours of uninterupted sleep!

CPAP does work!

My #'s
Leak: 0.0
AHI: 8.3
AI: 0.8
HI: 7.5

Duration: 9:58 hrs.

Wow!!! Sounds like you needed it. Hopefully you'll get enough sleep regularly that you won't need those marathon sleep sessions often. But didn't it feel GREAT!?! I'm just a bit jealous.

Hi, sounds good, but I'm a little concerned because your AHI is on the high side (though I don't know what's standard for you). The fact you slept so long could possibly reflect that things were not going well and that you slept longer trying to .. get some sleep. I hate raining on parades, and maybe it was a good thing for you, but I would want to look a bit further before cheering too loudly. You may not have felt bad that day afterward, but I wonder if you were to continue such long sleeptimes and high AHI's if you'd feel an improvement, or something else.

Being that the AI is only 0.8 and the bulk of the AHI is HI in this case, I wouldn't think you have a problem. Resmed machines are known to mark many more HI than other machines. With a different machine I think your HI number would be much lower. Sounds like your doing great to me!

Those numbers are exceptionaly good for me.
I started another thread asking which was better, comfort or results ( viewtopic/t42862/Which-is-more-important.html ) where I showed my numbers from the day before, wearing the "comfortable" full face mask. THOSE numbers were a little worse.
Leak: 0.04
AHI: 20.2
AI: 3.0
HI: 17.2

After seeing those numbers, I switched back to my "uncomfortable" nasal mask.
