Infinity HC481 nasal pillows

Post by lmn » Wed Sep 07, 2005 6:09 pm

Has anyone used the Infinity HC481 nasal pillow system by Fisher & Paykel? I have a very small head and currently use the comfort gel nasal mask petite as it is the only mask small enough for me. I cannot even use the much preferred Activa. I would like to try a pillow system and all of the head gear is to big. A representative at cpap.com suggested the Infinity as there is only one small strap. Any help will be appreciated.

I tried Infinity and found it to be a good idea that failed miserably upon use. The device cannot tolerate torque from the hose -interface loses it seal repeatedly.

See if they will loan you one to try for a few nights; it might be the right interface for you, who knows?

Buy a new hat, drink a good wine, treat yourself, and someone you love, to a new bauble, live while you are alive... you never know when the mid-town bus is going to have your name written across its front bumper!

Another alternative is the Freestyle from Innomed. the flexible hose reduces some of the torque problems caused by the infiinity hard tube. The only problem I have found is this is a noisier interface than most. if sized right it seals very well.

Infinity Direct Nasal Mask 481 (Fisher Paykel)

I use this mask and have for about 6 weeks. I like it and have not had much of a problem with it. I love the headgear which is like a piece of spaghetti. I sleep on my back and hardly move at all while sleeping. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis as well as OSA and my back is the only pain free position for sleep. I think that if you move or turn in the night this is not a good mask because the tubing would pull it out every time you moved.
