What to do with hose

Post by rachelnew » Fri Jun 05, 2009 10:23 pm

What do you do with the hose? My mask has a clip on the top for the hose--is that necessary? It's heavy (ish..to me anyway). Can I just let it loose or am I going to end up with it wrapped around my neck?

I don't clip mine at all. I just throw it to the side of my face, then back across the top of my pillow. That way it doesn't get in the way when I turn from side to side, or stomach. I don't like it straight down.

IT HELPS TO CLAMP OR TIE THE AIRHOSE to the bedhead above your sleeping position to prevent it tugging on the mask and being wound around neck as you roll in sleep

this also stops CPAP being pulled off a shelf or bedside table by movement in your sleep

I use the "hozer" hose management system. I tried putting it over the headboard, but it still hung up and bothered me when I turned over in the bed. This system moves with me. It has been very helpful.

I found it a little cheaper on another site and cpap.com match the price for me.

Here are links to (and pictures of) ways people have rigged up the main air hose to keep it out of the way, and keep it from tugging on the mask when you turn over:

Rachel, it would be a good idea for you to go to User Control Panel at the top left of this page, and pick out your exact equipment (use text rather than icons to list these, please). This will help all of us to give you more specific help for what you are working with. Welcome to the forum!
