WOW!!!
That really caught my attention. At 1st I wondered if the head nurse was a quilting group member speaking quiltese, BUT, then I found this (which is still a mystery to me - so I hope to learn too )

So anyone who can translate this gobbledygook, please do so (gently)

Re: what is this spindling & beta activity
From reading it, it can occur in people on certain drugs (that's why it says to rule out medication) and it seems more common in those with ADD and ADHD and those with epilepsy and other brain disorders. Basically it is saying that it is not "normal" but they don't really know what it means. It does predisopose the person to seizure so it is saying be careful in trying to treat it. It's almost like the brain of a person with beta activity is overly sensitive to stimuli.

Re: what is this spindling & beta activity
It doesn't sound like something to be worried about. If you have ADHD, you might have been born that way. Or if you had some kind of brain injury, it might have happened then. It seems to be more an informational thing. So they would know to be careful with certain medications but it doesn't sound like something they need to "fix".

Excessive spindling and beta activity is an indication that you have sleep apnea. All it means is that you had a lot of wakefulness during the PSG - this is to be expected.
What about the titration study? If they get you titrated correctly and you get some "good" sleep, spindling and beta activity will return to normal levels.
BTW, my doc showed me that spindling is a desciptive word for symmetrical clusters of variations in voltage on the EEG, like below:

But ask the sleep lab about the comment the next time you have a chance.

Rooster,
Good info - sure makes better sense than the link I found. Also I can see that spindle shape & the meaning is clearer.
