Hey fnorette!
I had to save and enlarge the table to make sure what I was seeing was correct! Your low oxygen saturation was
49% on what they gave you as your prescribed pressure! That's still very severe OSA! Now maybe that could have been artifact, but if so, it should not have been reported. If they report it, it's now considered to be fact. There's obviously no good RDI and no good analysis of REM. I'm sorry I said inconclusive, this isn't even incomplete, this is out and out wrong. Print this whole thing up and tell them you want another complete free sleep study or a real good explanation as to why you're allowed to go home on 8 with that saturation. It would be interesting to see the rest of your results and see if that low O2 sat is part of a pattern and therefore a true reading. Regardless, you AT LEAST need some overnight oximetry to make sure that situation is corrected. Thanks for the opportunity to allow me to comment and maybe correct some of this.

DeltaDave -
So many thanks for your analysis! As I suspected, the whole $2000 study was wasted, my time included. My DME (the third one, but that's another story) has ordered a Respironics APAP that will be here tomorrow, and with Encore Pro from cpap.com and MyEncore from Derek I'll be able to get some REAL data. Then I'll go back to my referring physician and get a referral to a sleep lab WITH a sleep doctor who sees people ! Those other clowns are history !

DeltaDave, thank you for your detailed reply and suggestions on how to report sleep studies that smell bad.
My real point was not to get a pound of flesh, but to hopefully make people aware that if they feel something doesn't make sense in their sleep study, rather than simply following doctors orders, they should get an independent second opinion or third if necessary.
Many of us were raised to believe the doctor knows what's best for us and to not even think of questioning a doc's recommendation. I know my parents wouldn't have dreamed of questioning anything a doctor told them to do.
But especially in this relatively new specialty of sleep medicine where even the sleep docs and sleep techs often don't seem to know what's going on, it makes sense to question and evaluate your sleep study results if you're not comfortable with the findings.
I'd put RG up against any sleep doc or RT as far as CPAP knowledge.
Thanks again for your valuable input.

I was titrated at 12 and my 420e software says 12 is the effective 90 percent of the time.
