Hi. I have recently been diagnosed with sleep apnea. I have the following ailments: high blood pressure, headaches, severe fatigue, axciety and depression. My sleep study findings were as follows:
Epworth score 13
AHI 19.8
Moderate mixed OSA
MAX desaturation 85.0
Bulky tongue
224 pounds
5.8 ft
I have been given two Weinmann machines to trial for two weeks each. A cpap ( ramp = 10) and an apap with a nose mask. There was no leakage as far as i can tell. I unfortunately do not feel any different. I live in South Africa, and there appears to be little expertise in this specific field. Any advice to treatment would be appreciated. Thank you
Any advice please?
Re: Any advice please?
That's a pretty low O2 level (desaturation). I wouldn't be surprised if you find some relief from treatment for sleep apnea.
As far as getting started goes, try reading some of the information listed under the lightbulb ("Our Wisdom") in the menu bar above.

Hi Graham
Welcome to the forum. Many of us are new --- or relatively new cpapers. Basically all I know I have learned on this forum. You have found a place with a world of information. It does take some reading -- the more the better. I have found that sometimes a topic doesn't seem to be anything I would benefit from, but upon reading there is some response someone makes that helps me.
It takes a lot of patience and a very determined outlook -- and nearly everyone has some issues to resolve in their treatment -- but it pays off.
Best of luck in your own cpap journey.

Well it could take a month or so for your body to appreciate it. I would turn it up to 12 and try it. You can play with the setting and probably figure it out if your patient.
