Resmed Quattro FF mask with FP431 strap

How about a truly hybrid mask? When the Resmed Quattro FF mask fell too low on my face and bruised the bridge of my nose I looked at potential solutions. Moleskin could have protected my nose but would probably cause leaks. The problem was the mask was too low on my face and there was no way to raise it using the straps provided. Solution...simple: take the strap from a Fisher Paykel 431 mask (with the adjusting straps across the top of the head) and install it on the Quattro mask. Voila! The top straps bring the mask up so that it fits perfectly and using the "button" allows you to move the mask in and out from the face, virtually eliminating leaks.

Only one other addition - a short strap with velcro on either end that loops over the side of one of the bottom straps, under my chin, and attaches to the other bottom strap so that my mouth does not open while I am sleeping. This is one of those great "necessity is the mother of invention" stories.

Try it if you have had problems with the Quattro. After three days using the Resmed straps it looked as if my husband had belted me a good one across my nose. When I tried the new strap solution there was absolutely no pain...and no groove in the top of my nose.
