CMS50E instructions?

Post by yardbird » Fri May 15, 2009 1:34 pm

Holy crapola.

Ok so I just got this oximeter. It works. I want to set myself up to record tonight and then download tomorrow morning WITHOUT losing the recorded data by fumbling around.

I hold power button, get to settings menu, go to record, turn it on, set time in hours and minutes...

So... let's say I set it for 8 hours, but I wake up in 7 hours.

What's the procedure? I've lost recorded data like 4 out of 5 times testing this for like 2 minutes at a time.

I wake up... take it off my finger..... then what?

It looks like if I press the power button it goes to the display screen but not the settings menu and it's still recording (red "rec" and blinking light)

Step by step?

thanks

I have to run off to a dedication ceremony at the MercyFlight helicopter base. So I'll probably have to check back in later this evening to see if I have any answers here.

You don't set it for the number of hours you'll be sleeping. You set it for the current time that you are gonig to use it. It will record the time that you are asleep.

DOH!

OK... so go to bed at 10pm... set it to 10:00 ?

Or does it do 24 hour time so 10pm would be 22:00 ?

Or does that not matter?

Whichever... ok so I wake up. Take unit off finger. Press and hold power button? Try to get to settings menu, turn off recording, plug into computer, start SPO2 Review, new session, and then on the unit tell it to upload?

Guess I'll have to do a couple 5 or 10 minute sessions here and give it a go.

This does work in an XP virtual machine on my linux computer though which is kinda cool.

then what?
After accessing the OX menu
1. set time you are going to start recording such as 10:00PM will be 22:00.
This is start time of recording, not period of time to be recorded.
2. Put on your finger
3. When you wake up, go back to the menu again, turn record off
4. Attach cable to OX and computer, activate OX's software on computer
5. Access Menu and turn on UBS to "on" and upload to "on"...and watch it download.
6. When you turn on record next time, it automatically records over previous data.
If you accidentially go back to record option before downloading data, choose
N for NO and you will not lose previous data. If you choose Y, you begin a new
recording session and lose previous data.

The nice thing about setting your recording time, it's may be easier to compare timeperiods as you had recorded times of events.
Over time I have noticed trends just like I have with apnea or hypo's with ResCan software. I'm currently equally interested to desats with
asthma symptoms trying to notice patterns of desats with severity of asthma symptoms!!!! This little gadget is interesting and actually stays
on my fingers all by itself most nights!!!! I wonder how long the rechargable battery will last!

Good luck!!!
