I got my CPAP machine on July 20th. I still am trying to get used to it. I use it every night. I find that I sleep much better, but I wake up almost every night still. Is this common to do? I am very new to this whole CPAP process and everything, so I want some input from others that need to as well. How long is a good length of time to give myself to fully adjust to my machine?
Thanks,
Shelley

I got my Cpap just a few days before you, I guess, so I'm also new. I'm waking up fully once, usually for a restroom break...and often wake up litely to re-adjust my mask. Seems like every time I turn my head, I lose the seal and have to adjust it. The RT called me to see how I was doing, I told her I was adjusting a lot and is that normal and she said yes. Hmmm. Wonder if she even knows what she is talking about. But I think I'm doing really well in that I can keep the mask on all night long and have from day one. And I'm feeling better. Not BEST yet, but definitely better.

Hey guys, keep in mind you got into this mess over a long period of time and it will take awhile to adjust. While some get used to it right off the bat, most of us took awhile to adjust. I still wake up occationally with it but man, has it changed my life for the better. There will be a day soon that you won't feel right going to bed without it, it will be your security blanket.
The right interface of course makes all the difference in getting used to it and the only way to get it right is to try different ones until you find the one that works best for you. It took me six to find the right one, it was the Activa, then two more to find the one I like now, the Swift.
