well got thru my first night, thought I slept ok but was awake a lot. Wife disturbed me out of a good sleep near midnight, tossed/turned rest of the night.
I was very happy with the mask, as far as masks go anways. Stayed put pretty well, was surprised my leak was 0 thought it'd be higher
got rained out twice, minor didn't drown me anyways. I have my humidifer set to 2. The first time I used the machine (4 hours) I had it set to 3 and really liked that setting but just filled the hose with water. My sinus was much improved in the morning though, hopefully with a sock I can go back to 3. 2 left my nose feeling a bit dry in this morning. Nose is also a bit sore but I guess that is normal for ahwile. I'll try that nursing nipple cream.
pulled the #s off the machine and wrote them down, they need improvement. Think I need more pressure? 1st night though too early to tell?
pressure 8
leak 0.0
AHI 22.3
AI 9.2
HI13.1
total use last night 7.14 hours
going to get me a hose sock asap.
I wonder if I can adjust the pressure myself? I have the clinical book telling how to change everything but didn't see the pressure setting.

What machine? (presumably a ResMed "something")
Would you mind filling out your profile so we know what you're using?
It would appear that a pressure setting of 8 cm. is too low. If you're using EPR at a setting of 3, then your effective pressure is even lower.
Hang in there......you'll get it figured out.

ya, at work and getting interupted a lot
the profile doesn't have the correct humidifer, I auctually have the H4i..no idea if there is any difference.

If my experience is anything to go by, and a pressure of 8 the sock won't be enough, and you'll need a heated hose.
Well... a heated hose, and hose cover, and a narrow tube cover... rainout is worse a lower pressures.
To much wated in the hose can skew the resluts - so try to control the rainout.

And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.

The newer H4i is probably a much better humidifier than the 3i, so it's good you have the 4i.KFhunter wrote:the profile doesn't have the correct humidifer, I auctually have the H4i..no idea if there is any difference.
If you have a Provider manual (clinical manual) it definitely will have graphics of the menu items somewhere in the manual, and will tell exactly how to access the clinical menu. Are you sure the manual you have is not just the "User" manual?KFhunter wrote:I wonder if I can adjust the pressure myself? Anyway, yes, you can set the pressure yourself -- with or without the clinical manual. Some of the menu items talked about in the message board discussion might be different from exactly what you'll see in the clinical menu of your machine, but you'll get the idea:
