I Am Return-ed!

Post by TXKajun » Thu Aug 18, 2005 1:09 pm

Re-hi to everyone! It's been a while, but there's been tons going on and I haven't had much of a chance to post in the last 6 or so weeks. I'm going to try to contribute a bit better now. Ya'll helped me SOOOO much the first few months as well as have been a constant source of support. Thank you, each and every one!

Now, to bring ya'll up to date: First a colonoscopy (boy, do I know how to have fun or what?? LOL), followed by a double hernia operation a week later (see, I DO know how to have fun!) that's kept me down for almost 4 weeks, and now the company I work for has lost the contract for the work I and 16 others do. Sheesh! Not to mention constant 100 degree days here in the desert SW broken ocassionally by 2+ inches of rain in about 4 hours!

But, through all this, I've worn my Ultra Mirage FF mask and used my wonderful PB 420E with heated humidifier and I'm doing pretty darn good.

My clear-headedness has remained throughout my trials and tribulations, my energy levels are returning from being down the tube from the surgery/anaesthetic to almost normal levels (at least if I stay out of the heat. I still don't have too much stamina, but it's getting better day by day) and my outlook remains positive. I'm just downright amazed at how much good a shoe-box-size piece of metal, some plastic hose and a Darth-Vader mask have done...and how consistently it keeps working if it gets used!

Things are looking good at work. It looks like the new contract holder will pick up as many of us as want to stay. Health-wise, the Doctor says I can start adding back my regular activities of motorcycling, golf, hunting, fishing, working out, etc slowly over the next couple of weeks. Dove season starts two weeks from today, I was lucky enough to draw a deer permit this season, my 8 year old son loves to hunt, fish, golf and ride on the back of my motorcycle and in 10 days, my lovely Sweetie and I will celebrate 3 whole months of marital bliss AND my weight is down a whopping 8 pounds! WOO HOO!

So, anyway, hi to everyone again and welcome to all the new folks. And Johnny, thanks for having this board!!

COLONOSCOPY!!! Yep, I've had one of those, probably about due for another. The procedure wasn't so bad, but that 12 hours on the pot sure was. I was up until 2 a.m. Had no trouble sleeping that night. But mine wasn't followed a week later with hernia surgery.

Good to have you back, guy.

Funny, I was just thinking of you about an hour ago - about how much I'd learned from your statement that you'll only change settings once a month, because you've got your whole life to keep on doing it.

Glad to hear you again!
O.
