Oplilife mask question

Post by junie » Fri Feb 27, 2009 5:22 pm

I just received the Respironics Oplilife mask, I have a question The chin strap I'm having a hard time
getting it to tighten if I tighten the strap on top of my head then that parts to tight, Does anyone
know how to get it tight? I also looked at pictures on the sight and mine looks just like the picture.

Hello Judy,
Ya can't blame you for trying to get this to work.
That chin strap on the OptiLife is not designed to be a chin strap per se, it is more a stabilizing strap.

I know it looks like a chin strap, and fits where a chin strap fits, but it is not what it does.

Hope this helps some,

Karen

HI sharperjudy. That is the mask I started with on CPAP and when I got it where it would seal properly, it made my nose hurt. I finally gave up on it as I could not get a good compromise between tight enough to seal and not tight enough to hurt! I now sleep under a ResMed Ultra Mirage Full Face Mask. Read a lot of the previous posts on this mask as many people have made good suggestions and they did make many to me when I started out.
