Activa vs Swift with a PB420

Post by bigheadr » Thu Aug 18, 2005 10:53 am

I just had my second night with my new Activa mask. The AHI data was higher than with my Swift mask but my Acoutical Vibration number was much lower. What gives? Sounds like my new sleep doctor was right that my Swift might have been leaking and that caused the higher Acoutical Vibration number. I didn't need the new large chip strap which kept me up the first night with the new mask and still got low Acoutical Vibration numbers. I will try several more days to see if the AHI data goes down. Maybe I am just getting use to the new mask. Has anyone who has the same combinations of masks seen difference in their numbers?

What the heck is acoustical vibration? That is a term I am unfamiliar with. Does that apply to Siverlining as opposed to Encorepro? I am on Encorepro and have never noticed anything called AV. Did I miss something else, besides the auto on/off that comes as an option on the Remstar Auto?

Snores.

The machine identifies acoustical vibrations in the air flow.

Ozij, is that with the 420e or the Remstar Auto? I have a snore index on my Encorepro but nothing that says "Acoustical Vibration."

Acoustical vibration is the term the PB uses when referring to snoring.

Fancy, schmancy. I guess the French prefer the term "acoustical vibration" to "snoring." To me, it's six of one, half-a-dozen of the other. Thanks.
