OT Rid'n the Horsetooth

Post by carbonman » Sun Feb 22, 2009 8:25 pm

I did a great ride around Horsetooth Reservoir today.
It was partly cloudy, 50F, chilly. Alot of put it on,
take it off, put it on, take it off.
64miles 3.8K vertical 3:49'
Horsetooth was created by building 4 dams, inbetween uplifted
sections of the hogback. Remember the hogback from Dino Ridge.
Same formation, just 70 miles north of Dino Ridge.

Looking north from the ice choked south marina.

Dam 3 The climb on the other side is just as bad as it looks.

One of many coves that were created.

Reflections in the still water.

Look back south from the north end.

Looking backup at Dam 2, from the west side of Ft.Collins.

On the way home, I got this shot of Long Peak/Meeker Peak.

I love cycling.
