Encore Pro 1.8 Support for Serial v/s USB Card Reader?

Encore Pro 1.8 Support for Serial v/s USB Card Reader?

I’m sure this question as been asked a million times before, but does the Encore Pro software v1.8 support both serial and/or USB card readers?

Although I suspect E-Pro 1.8 does support both, it's always better to confirm in advance.

I'm thinking that I’d be better off with the USB reader given that computers equipped with serial ports appear to be going the ‘way of the Dodo bird’.
