Howdy -
all other things being equal, my leakage rate's about doubled in the past week.
How often are folks having to replace the gasket, and does having facial hair (logically enough) shorten gasket life?
thanks!

Re: Quattro gaskets
I've found I have to replace the quattro's cushion about every 6-8 weeks. It doesn't matter if I wash my face before bed because I produce so much oil in the night, the mask is just dripping with it in the morning. Sometimes I even have to get up in the night and re-wash everything.
See the thread on gluing the mask to the face, there is talk on there about how skin oils can be absorbed by the cushion and break it down over time. If that's true, mine might last longer if I would wash it right away in the morning. So maybe how long it lasts depends on how oily your skin is and when and how often you wash it.
I'm not sure if facial hair would shorten the life of the cushion, but it might make it more difficult to seal. I think that one works best by sticking to the skin, which of course isn't possible if it's sitting on hair. You might need to shave or try another mask. OTOH, if it was working fine for a while with your beard and is just now starting to leak, it might just need replacing.

Re: Quattro gaskets
I have two that I rotate. One is five months old the other is three months old. I wash mine after every use. I tried shaving at night but it actually leaked more. My beard growth actually held the mask in place a little. I keep my clean and out of the sunlight. I have been told that I am really pushing it going five months on this one.
