I don't mind helping to pay for the stimulus if it "stimulates"! But will it?

Packitin, That is the question.packitin wrote:I don't mind helping to pay for the stimulus if it "stimulates"! But will it?
Now note this. The last year of Clinton's presidency (1999), the federal government spent $1.7 trillion. Over the next eight years, Bush increase federal spending to $3.0 trillion (2008). So Bush had his own "stimulus bill" spread over eight years to the tune of $1.3 trillion in increases.
So this eight years of stimulus left the economy in what shape in 2009? So is there anyone left standing who believes the current "stimulus" bill of $0.8 trillion will do good things for the economy?

But my good man Rooster ... you failed to note that Bush spent his trillions in Iraq and Afganistan ... not in US or it's citizens (unless you count Blackwater and Haliburton as US citizens).rooster wrote:Packitin, That is the question.packitin wrote:I don't mind helping to pay for the stimulus if it "stimulates"! I agree the new bailouts help none of us .... however, the wealthy corporate elite will get their classy office rugs and new shiney commodes.
As usual, the tribal mentality of Dems vs rePugs gets America nowhere while the corporate beasts grows ever larger and hungrier.
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

I agree with all that the new bailouts help not help any of us ... but those wealthy corporate elite CEO's and CFO's will still get their 6 figure incomes and a new office update!!! Maybe even a company car, cell phone --what the heck--might as well give them a house for free along with it!!
It is so sad that the DOCTOR who is supposed to be educated and knows better----goes ahead and gives a woman more babies when she already has 6 at home and is on WELFARE!! How did she pay for the implants to begin with?? The sperm is probably the dang doctor's---

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God. And remember - the richest person is not the one who has the most, but the one who needs the least.

stepping up to the soapbox...................
You know, if a person finds their self in a difficult situation and needs it, i have no problem with them receiving welfare, however, it should not be a lifestyle. There should be conditions, and most of the time a time period where it will expire. And yes, there are situations, a divorce or spouse passing that makes things difficult, if not impossible to do on your own.
If you go on welfare and are pregnant, ok maybe they should help with the child, but just with that one. People should not be rewarded for having more and more kids they cant afford.
Dont get me wrong, I am not a fan of abortion, and the child should be taken care of, and maybe in some cases removed from the parents. But if you cant afford them, dont have them.
How the hell did she ever find a doctor to give her fertility treatment when she has 6 kids and no job.
WE will be supporting those kids, hopefully they will not grow up and follow mamas example.
.................stepping off the soapbox
sorry if this offends anyone, but its my personal feelings, i have seen too many people abuse the system, and have seen over and over people that just have more children because they get more benefits.

i read she was injured at work and got something like 200,000 settlement and was getting disability payments monthly. I believe the payments were stopped.sleeplessinaz wrote: It is so sad that the DOCTOR who is supposed to be educated and knows better----goes ahead and gives a woman more babies when she already has 6 at home and is on WELFARE!! Re: OT: Nadya Suleyman's Octuplets
This woman has to have some mental issues. What she did was not normal in any way, shape or form. She needs some help and having more kids is not the kind of help she needs. I hope that social services is involved because she can't possibly take care of all these kids, some of them already have problems and you can be sure at least a few of these new babies are going to have issues as well.
