My 1st thought was mouth leaking but I forgot you are a new nasal pillows user, so I thought I would post more ideas here hoping others would be able to offer more ideas.from an email wrote:Last night I tried 13/9 with my new aeiomed headrest with no tape on my mouth—had an AHI over 20 and large leak over 33% of the time. Didn’t feel as bad this morning as I thought I would with those numbers.
You didn't mention what size pillow - so I'm thinking possibly they could also be leaking. I would start with the very largest size you have 1st. If the L doesn't seal you will have to order the XLNS.
To help the seal:
Don't forget to put a dab of Lansinoh between thumb and forefinger rub some on nares, around the outside of each pillow and on your lips if you like. I stopped buying chapstick
The Brandy barrel thing Kira mentioned may help if you are mouth leaking. As will holding a pillow between your arms but up under your chin.
Just roll up a small towel on a rope or shoe string - use more string, rubber band, or velcro to keep towel from unrolling to make the Brandy barrel. Tie up under your chin before bed. Should help to keep mouth from falling open after drifting off.
