what mask type on S8 Autoset II

Post by vaderboi » Sat Feb 14, 2009 1:34 pm

I just received my zzz full face mask and want to try it out. I'm curious as to what I should set my mask type to on the S8 Autoset II. I noticed that I can change my mask type. My cpap is currently set for the quattro full face mask. Should I just keep it at that?

TIA

Boy! Far be it for me to disagree w/RestedGal!!!! I'm brainwashed she knows best. Seriously! However, I'm also ..... well, we won't go into that.

The Users Manual suggests that any mask not a Resmed mask the Mask Selection should be set to Standard. In the Standard mask selection setting the Resmed will automatically deduct .4 L/s (24 L/M) as the allowed vent rate.

I'd be inclined - because I figure Resmed "should" know what they are talking about w/their own device and software - to try one week at the Quattro setting and one week at the Standard setting.

Why??? Because I have this "respect" or whatever you want to call for RG and her uncanny ability to experiment and come up w/some thing that "works".

After a week at each setting compare the data - both Leak rates AND your AHI, etc. - AND HOW YOU FEEL. Why do I get the feeling either there will little to no difference - or RG will be right?
