encoreViewer - do the math

Briefly without getting into a bunch of detail I just ran a report for the last week in Encore viewer.

Daily AHI's ranged from .8 to 1.7

Average AHI (page 3 I think of the report) says 1.9

Shouldn't the average for the week fall between the minimum and maximum daily averages?

nah

not the way the programmers at respironics flunked 4th grade arithmetic and had an easy grader in 3rd grade

You're obviously looking at the Long Term Trend Report. The "math" they use to calculate the AHI in that report is a joke.
Any fractional part of the Hypopnea Index (anything greater then 0.0) is automatically rounded up to 1.0.

Hah, well nice to know they spent as much time on getting the math right as they did on the lack of features in the software.

Everything you need to find the Sweet Spot in your treatment is in the Dailies, the other data is just window dressing, even the bottom of the dailies is unnecessary data. Just the graphs please Jim

I'm with you, Jim! The only thing I look at on a download from either Encore Viewer or Encore Pro are the "Daily Details" graphs, which start on page 4 of the Full Details report. Those graphs are called: "Sleep Therapy Daily Details."

I agree that the "bottom of the dailies" is unnecessary data, so I don't even glance at the "Daily Events per hour" table chart below the graph on each Daily Details page. And I sure never bother to look at any of the trends or summary pages at the beginning and end of the report. I look at the Sleep Therapy Daily Details graphs, and that's it.
