Tubing Problem

I just started using the Resmed S8 Autoset II about 10 days ago. I'm having a heck of a time getting the tubing off of the humidifier spout in the mornings in order to hang it up for drying. Does anyone know if it is OK to use a water soluable lubricant on the spout or inside the tubing collar in order to make removing the tubing not such a chore? Thanks for any assistance anyone can provide.

I'm not familiar with your machine....but I suspect the hose is the same as mine.......

I would not do this as your hose may come off at night while sleeping.

You can try an elbow connector (hard plastic) to interface the tubing with the humidifier spout. This is what I use with my heated hose. The connector comes off very easily.

Below is a picture. You may be able to get this from your DME - they are very cheap - I wouldn't think more than a couple of dollars.

Have you actually tried the "Quick Release Fittings"? Have you experimented with them?

I have. They're on both ends of my hose....and they work perfectly.

Apply the Scientific Method......Test.

Gerald-- I think neuro was responding to the original idea of putting lube on the hose end--not the Quick Connect fittings.

loop a piece of heavy dental flossinto the fitting and over both sides. make it long enough so it hangs out. that gives you something to get it started. the rubber on the hose will seal over it
