Is my heater working?

Post by iotay55 » Sun Feb 08, 2009 4:57 pm

The air coming through my tube is cold even though the light is on. I've been suffering from terrible sinus problems for over a month. The only thing that seems to help is keeping my room so hot I cannot sleep. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated. I also have the humidifier turned up pretty high, could that be the problem??

The heated humidifier is NOT made to heat the incoming air. It warms the water so more moisture can be carried in the air. Many find that too high a setting causes stuffiness. You can try turning it lower or even off, but still use it in passover mode if need be. If you need warmer air you can try the Aussie heated hose. Works great for me.

Too high of a setting with the humidifier can cause more stuffyness. It sort of backfires. I thought for sure I needed more not less humidity. I was wrong on that. I have mine set on pass-over and that works just fine for me. As for warmer air, I just recently started to use a "repti-cord" for warm air and that works wonderfully for actually warming the air I breathe in. Much cheaper than a heated hose and many people are using this method for warmth.

Please, what is a repti-cord and where did you find it?

It's a neat way to burn your house down. Might even get you in "News of the Weird".
