weird Flexifit 431 mask problem

Hey all. I have been using a full face Flexifit 431 (small) for several weeks and I really like it. However, my shoulders have been getting sore from sleeping in one position too long at nights, so I decided to sleep propped up on my back a bit to help the shoulders. It felt great except my Flexifit mask kept leaking. And not normal leaks, the whole bottom part of the seal would suddenly pop out of the little slidey clip things it fits into. There was no rainout to make it wet and therefore slick, and it never pops out like that when I lay on my side. Tightening straps didn't help.

Has anyone else had this problem? I've searched the forums but haven't found anything on this specific weirdness.

Could be that as you fall asleep your jaw drops. This might allow enough slack for the clips to slip out. Try tightening up the straps once you are in your sleeping position.

Thanks for the idea, you're probably right. Last night I tightened the mask about as much as I dared and it helped, but it was so uncomfortable I couldn't keep it at that tightness. I'm in the market for another mask, I'll see if I can find one that's better for the occasional vertical nights.

i had that problen too..

seems that if your mask is too loose is when it is worse

also i don't remove the seal when i wash it. wash the whole thing together(minus the headgear of course) the more you take the seal out the looser the fit gets.
the head gear is the main culprit. try this you will see what i mean. with your head tipped back set your headgear to a comfy leak free fit.---- then tilt your head foreward towards your chin.... walla it's loose now isn't it.

i adjust mine with my head tilted down and it works fairly well. i have not got a fix yet. since i have another i am going to try(when i get time)sewwing elastic onto the bottom set of straps. i'm thinking that will work.

also may want to check into a pap cap am thinking on that line.

anyone else got any ideas?

I wouldn't be surprised if the seal on the rubber part is indeed loose. I get so much rainout (and drool!) that I have to take the seal out of the groove when I clean it, otherwise stuff builds up in there. Kind of frustrating since I've only had the mask 2 months, and haven't even used it every night, I used to switch it with the Comfortgel every so often.
