Dry eyes from leaks
I'm new to the forum (first post) and relatively new to the Mirage Quattro - got the c-pap last spring but have found lots of excuses not to use it. It leaks during the night and makes weird noises, but the worst problem is waking up with an eye that is either dry or something has blown into it. It hurts a lot, eye wash hasn't cleaned it out if something's in it, and eyedrops haven't given relief if air from the mask has dried the eye out. This happened earlier and I used it as an excuse to stop using the machine. Btw, I finally agreed to go to a sleep clinic when my husband taped the sounds I make while asleep. It wasn't snoring, more like strangling. I don't know how he ever gets a good night's sleep with that going on. I know I have to stay with it, but it's hard. I'd appreciate any, all advice.

Re: Dry eyes from leaks

Hello & Welcome, Thirties Child! Glad you found this forum—SO much useful info and everyone here is so willing to help!
That air blowing into your eyes via a bad seal or leak around your mask must be stopped! I believe that can cause damage to your eyes. You really need to let your doctor or DME know about this so you can get either a new mask, new cushion, or assistance with properly adjusting the mask to eliminate that leak. Good luck!

Re: Dry eyes from leaks
Thanks. I immediately called the respiratory therapist, who will call me back this afternoon. I obviously need to take action instead of deciding the best solution is not to use it.

Oh yes, do take action, and please don't stop your CPAP, since untreated sleep apnea can have devastating impact on one's health!
