Aussie Hose

Post by Linus » Mon Jan 26, 2009 12:26 pm

I just got my Aussie Hose and I like it. I have a question. Does anyone know if the hose is thermostat controlled or time controlled.

I had a problem last night. I had to get up because my dog wanted to go outside. I shut off my cpap machine and left the hose on.
When I got back to bed 5 minutes later I put on my mask and went back to sleep. This morning at 6:30 I had a gush of condensation wake me up. I am wondering if the hose senses that the temp was rising because no air was flowing and it shut down. If so, three hours of higher humidifier settings and the hose being out from under my covers would explain the condensation flow.

The night before, everything was fine. I hung my hose above my head and really liked not having the hose in my bed. I had my humidifier set pretty high and no condensation problems resulted.

On a side note...
I did notice that really warm humid air made me feel too warm so I had to turn down the temperature of the humidifier. I guess warm humid air warms up the pulmonary system which in turn warms the rest of the body. That was an odd feeling.

The Sleepzone hose heating element is either plugged-in to a power outlet (and therfore ON) or unplugged from a power outlet (and therefore OFF). There are no "controls" per se.

Cheers,

Bill
