Look, I have to say one thing here (as a Canadian privy to just about everything that goes on in the US, certainly everything covered by CNN and a zillion other news channels. Slinky has a perfect right to his opinions (as does everyone else), but for your sake as an outsider, you should know that he appears to be rather on the 'conservative' or Republican side of things and not presenting what I feel should be a balanced view. So many of us Canadians, and SO many Americans (who after all elected Obama, not another Republican) feel that Obama may very well be a light at the end of what's been a pretty long, dark tunnel, and we definitely do NOT think he will follow Bush's policies in future - makes no sense as Bush has been officially rated (apart from hated) the most unpopular president ever. It may not be very realistic to see Obama as the the saviour of the whole western (+ eastern?) world in the future, but an awful lot of people are giving him the benefit of the doubt at this point!

Slinky is a farm based grandma - gets a bit cranky at times (health challenges) - heart of gold

Cheers

PS - to kopoloff - Politics is always such a dangerous OT topic

#2 Bluebonnet_gal made a very good and telling point - in a group like this we really need to focus on what we have in common that brings us together in support. Asking people to talk about what divides us, no matter how compelling the arguments, can only go downhill & open divisions where they are not needed. Cheers DSM

Well I'll tell you a secret, I'm (just) now a senior, live in a very rural area and also have health challenges (wouldn't be here if I didn't), but seeing as it felt that most postings had 'erred' on the side of the Reps, I thought I'd get in my 2 c's worth, but I guess only one side's allowed to post here, so sorry.

You aren't having any fun so you have to again produce fictional accounts of something Rooster was supposed to have said for your enjoyment. That is a favorite tactic of Rush Limbaugh. Have you secretly been listening to him again?

Bush only did two good things that I am aware of:
-After 9/11/2001 he showed resolve to protect our nation from additional terrorist attacks.
-Tax cuts (but even here he failed to make them permanent)

Bush participated in a lot of damage:
-Signed bills from Congress spending money like drunken Democrats
-Thereby running up the budget deficit
-Signed the monstrous farm bill
-Threw our bailout money to he knows not where.
- 455,000 pages of new Federal legislation in 8 years!!!!

Why aren't you happy, JeffH? Your socialist agenda is being promoted by both major parties.

Find something to do with your hands that doesn't cause blindness.
