Getting new autoSV from Apria- have question?

Post by kolchak » Sat Jan 10, 2009 12:18 pm

Hi,
My respironics autoSV malfunctioned recently. I brought it to Apria to be inspected & they are ordering me a new one. I use the term "inspected" loosely because when I handed it to the "tech" he got the same look on his face as my dog when I try to hand her the telephone. The tech basically took my word that the machine wasn't working properly.
The tech didn't know the Care First or Respironics policy about defective machines but "thinks" it will be covered, because it was exactly 364 days since I got my original machine.

I will call Carefirst on Monday but wondering if anyone knows the replacement policy for the first year?
Will I be charged, and will I get a refurbished or new machine?

Also interesting - according to my explanation of benifits, apria billed $10,282 for the autoSV and Care First paid only $307. How can this be?

Have a great weekend!

Thank you DSM. I hope it's covered but the machine is priceless to me & I'll do whatever it takes to get a new one ASAP!
