Unbelievable how quiet it is even at 20. A "sexy piece of kit" ie: really neat little package. It blows away the M-series in looks and sound but is taller and heavier. Keys and display stay lit a yellow/green color all the time(dim) until you press one then they really light-up. Much less annoying than the blue button light and nice to have a backlit display. But for those sensitive to light they do stay lit albeit dim.
As far as the Auto functioning and reports based on one night- I am so tired right now, worse than any day on M-series Auto. The reports are harder to follow than Encore Pro. I can't really see correlations very well between events and leaks versus pressure increases and decreases. I looked at the report this morning and had to say to myself - HUH? What made the pressure go up or down at any given point. I could easily see the reason for these things in encore pro.
So it said I had ZERO apneas and an HI of 10.7 per hour and NRI of 2.7 per hour, snores 103 events. It says mask leak time of 0% of total even though it says average leak of 47.7 L/min. Avg. Est. Tidal volume 622.6 and Average breath rate 13.8 bpm. EPI or exhale puff index 0.3 per hour. I find it hard to believe zero apneas compared to the many I have every night on M-series.
Edit: There is the following advance settings in the clinical menu:
Apnea% - The absolute value below which the respiratory flow must fall to be considered as an apnea Range: 0-20%, increments of 5. Default: 10%
Apnea duration - The number of seconds the respiratory flow must remain below the apnea percent to be detected as an apnea. Range: 6-150 seconds, increments of 2 Default: 10 seconds
Hypopnea% - The percent which the respiratory flow must fall from its normal value to be considered as a hypopnea. Range: 30-70%, increments of 5 Default: 50%
Hypopnea Duration - The number of seconds the respiratory flow must remain below the hypopnea percent to be detected as a hypopnea. Range: 6-150 seconds, increments of 2 Default: 10 Seconds
I left all at defaults
Note also: The firmware on the machine and smartlink module have already been updated as well as the software has been updated - already. So I wonder what does one do if they update these regularly. You are stuck with the old?
I didn't notice the loss of C-flex at all. Edit - Some firmware updates were found online at the Devilbiss site.
No ramp in auto from what I can tell. It has a comfort feature that in Auto mode just keeps pressure at the min level that you set when setting min/max and keeps it there for a set amount of time up to 45 minutes.
You can't view any data on the screen with out the smartlink mounted on the system-period. Then you can only view AHI and not AI and HI and for me the leaks shows 0.00 even though my Average leak is 47.7-not sure what leak they are talking about being 0.00%? The leak rate is strange on the report because it has a line for average leak and a max leak line right above it all the time ?
Filling the humidifier is no easier than the M-series. Don't think you just pull out a door and pour because you have to pull it all the way out and tilt up almost on side to fill just like the M-series.
No unplugging to get into clinician menu.
I repeat - No data on screen without the optional smartlink module attached. So don't think you will just read the data on the screen and buy the smartlink module later.
Also I bought new from cpap.com and it came with over 30 hours on it... I figure maybe it is factory testing time but have an email in to cpap.com asking why the hours.
I also ordered a S8II Auto with H4I humidifier for under $700 online. Seems they dropped the MAP pricing or something like that for "authorized dealers". Great price. From everything I have read I think I will like it the best of the three but will see. I just need to find a good price on the resscan 3.7 and reader. This is my year to experiment and find what works best for me to have the best treatment. I figured I will sell my M-series auto with C-flex and then sell whichever one of the other two I like the least and if I find I liked the M-series "treatment" best I will sell the S8II and Intellipap and buy a M-series Auto with Aflex.
Now I need to get ready to go to work and I am so tired right now-Yuk!

QUICK AND EARLY COMPARISON
I am trying out the S8II w/ H4i and the IntelliPap Auto. They both seem to give the same results which are totally different than the M-series Auto with C-flex. Little or no AI and High HI for an AHI of 11-13. I don't think the LCD Data is that useful for tweaking parameters on any of these three machines. Yes the Intelli shows AI and HI and LEAK/PRESSURE but only if you have the SmartLink Module attached(So you may as well buy the software too). The S8II shows the same.(I haven't played with the software yet). The M-series combines AI and HI. The Intelli software shows Snores but not flow limitations but shows Mixed - whatever that is I don't know for sure. It also shows Exhale puffs and Tidal volume and Breaths Per Minute. I understand the ResScan software doesn't show snores or flow limitations.
I have stared at my Intelli reports for a while and you just can't make many judgements it seems looking at them. With Encore Pro I could see responses to different events but I am having a hard time seeing this with the Intelli. I liked Encore Pro better.
The Intelli with humidifier is much quieter than the S8II with humidifier and I need more experience to know about EPR but I have it on 3. I think I like the Intelli better even though it doesn't have any EPR it is very smooth and easy to breath on and so quiet. I don't care what they say they weigh, the Intelli and S8II with humidifier are noticeably heavier than the M-series with humidifier. The S8II slides around a lot easier on a table than the Intelli or M-series. No brick for the S8II or Intelli and the Intelli has a nice 8 foot long power chord. Intelli software is very simple and also very slow on my Vista computer and a daily report consists of 2 pages. Intelli doesn't seem to hold much water at all but doesn't run out either and I had it on 7 and still felt dry. The S8II H4i seems to hold a LOT of water and I set it on 3 and woke up 3.5 hours later with a face full of water. It is very good at producing humidity!!! It also has a warmup feature which is cool er warm : ). It has a mask fit feature which is a neat thing. It blows for up to an hour after you turn it off to cool the heat plate. It is easy to fill but so are the other two.
I really want to like the Intelli because it is neat looking and did I say VERY QUIET and uses a standard SD card and I bet any SD card reader would work - will try it. So far though I have felt the worse waking up after the Intelli... Aerophagia is rearing its ugly head I think. I set it to 13-20 and it chased snores or mixed or something all the way to 20. I set the S8II to 13-20 and it was pretty stable and didn't ever top out and found my exact PSG pressure as my 95% Average. Both show almost the same AI and HI with almost no AI and a lot of HI.
This is an early comparison and I will update it after more use or findings.
The carry case for the Intelli is small and really cool looking and looks like a gym bag except it is grey and I prefer all black-not much room for any extras and you have to split Humidifier to store. The S8II carry case is all black and larger with lots of extra room and looks like a computer bag from American Tourister and you have to split the Humidifier to store. They are both better and more useful than the M-series except you don't have to split the M-series. I think I like the I-Pap bag the best due to size and style. I already have a computer bag to carry.

Thanks Browser.
Your continuing experiments with these 3 machines could be very helpful for a new cpap user trying to decide on a machine or any person who is considering a change of machine.

Re: One night Intellipap Auto review and comparison
You are welcome. I have a short attention span so I am actually anxious to find the machine that leaves me feeling the best and has the best features and be done with it and not think about sleep and just do it. So don't look for a prolonged review. I will sort it out and be done with it.

Browser,
I have the S8 Autoset II. I have found that when EPR is on, the machine is noisy. However, when you turn EPR off, it is very quiet. Because of this, I do not use the EPR. It is very comfortable breating out without it. I run an average pressure of 10.8
