Encore Pro Install Problem

Post by Peaktagger » Sun Jan 04, 2009 5:40 pm

I install using the setup.exe James Skinner provided. I select all the defaults through the setup process. Setup up finished without error. When I go to run the programs for the first time after install, I get:

"An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL server does not allow remote connections. (provider:Named Pipes Provider, error:40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)"

I am running XP. I don't see anything in the SQL services configuration that would affect remote logins.

Anybody run into this before?

michael

you using encore viewer or encore pro?

jskinner's program only works with encore pro -

encore viewer does NOT create a data base

James Skinner's program is Encore Pro Analyzer (EPA) and requires Encore Pro. You are using Encore Viewer which doesn't have the SQL database that EPA needs.

Ahhhhh I see says the blind man ... LOL, I have Encore Viewer. yeah, that would certainly do it .... I mistakenly thought Encore Pro was James' baby. I have acquired the wrong piece of software. Where can Encore Pro be found?

Respirionics quit selling Encore Pro to anyone that is not a Doctor or DME. Reason given by most was that it was because you could change the pressure just by programing it into the card. They wrote Encore Viewer for the end users. Same data but does not use the SQL data base so Jame's Pro Analyser won't work with it. Does seem to be a bit more stable with out the SQL data base that can be a bit cranky at times.
