New Resmed Elite II owner has ? pls

Hello everyone. I'm not new to CPAP (got first machine in Sept), but had to change from Remstar to Elite II (new insurance plan as of 1-1-09 required change in DMEs). My question is about cleaning; the RT says empty out the distilled water each AM and disinfect with vinegar every 3 days. Old machine (Remstar) was top off the distilled water and don't clean the tank. I have planned on using the water warmer on new (Elite) machine. Oh, also I got the Swift LT mask. I would appreciate any help and direction. I have never checked out my data results (wanted to wait on insurance change). I'm to mail in card reader to DME in 60 days; did I understand a previous poster that this machine will show previous night's data? Thanks in advance.

Yes the machine will give data output on the LED.

if you go into the menu, be armed with pencil and paper and write everything down so that if you try to change it, you can undo the changes

you need to access that menu before noon to get data each day - get another piece of paper out to make a log of the data

I'd just top up the distilled water every orning and forget about the vinegar cleaning routine.

If you press the left and right buttons together you should see access to the smartdata - if the DME enabled it. If he didn't we can tell you how it is enabled.

Hi there--I have a Resmed Elite machine and you can just top off the distilled water every night and don't have to worry about cleaning the tank. I have had mine for awhile now (was given the Escape when I first started) and then like you I changed insurance to get my S8 Elite. I don't remember the last time I took the tank off and cleaned it. LOL!! I just top it off. The read out is great--you can check your stats every morning --before noon. It keeps it in memory though and will give you the weekly average as well as the monthly numbers. You can buy software for this machine but I did not do that. I can tell by the way I feel if the machine is helping me or not. Plus I read the LCD readout every morning.

I have the Swift LT mask too --I love it. I have ZERO leaks!!! NONE!!!! It is a fantastic product -- I hope you will find the same thing when you wear it for awhile,
