OT: More Bail Out

Post by Goofproof » Thu Jan 01, 2009 5:23 pm

Nothing runs like a Deere, with it's hand out!

With Record Sales & Record Profits Last Year! And probably a under the table political pay-off!

DEERE SECURES $2 BILLION IN FDIC-BACKED LOANS
Dec. 26, 2008

Farm Equipment magazine reports:

Deere & Co. secured a $2 billion loan in mid-December with the help of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., which backstopped the deal, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The offering, which is guaranteed by the FDIC's Temporary Liquidity Guarantee Program, saved Deere tens of millions of dollars through a low interest rate of 3%, compared with over 5% yields on some of its current debt, the newspaper reported.

By taking the backstop, Deere joins General Electric that have received federal support as the government tries to buttress the economy.

Question: Does the government have enough hands to hand out our money, are are they going to have to outsourse to China, for more hands? We must realize they might not have enough extra hands, after all they have one hand in our pocket, and another stuffing our money into their back pocket. Jim

Jim,

Are you trying to start off our New Year on a sour note? Hmmmmm?

My wife already tried that this morning......and it didn't work. Ain't gonna work with your tactics, either!!! SO THERE!!!

Yeah.....all this "corporate welfare" is going to take us further down a really bad road. Oh, well......we need to have faith that after January 20th, things are going to get better....and better....... (cough, cough, puke)

If I keep going, I WILL get depressed......so I'd better stop now.

Happy New Year, Jim.

I had a bad year also. My Heart Attack/Bypass Surgery bill is now up to $268,563.34 and that did not even fix my Sleep Apnea. Besides that I am not even well yet. I need a bail out!!! Where do I get in line???

Wait until they try to sell you on the defibulator with the defective leads for $150,000. Jim

I think I saw the bill on the pacemaker/defibulator as part of the total bill just have not broke the news that the leads are defective YET. Just wait until I strike the arc on my Miller cracker box and see if it works!!!!!!!!!!!

But darn now I have the blood pressure of a 20 year old now.

I got mine in two installments, you got a bargain, Mine has a emergency pacer built in but not a real pacemaker. My blood pressure is half of what it was when I was a kid, but the problem was fixed by killing 3/4 of the pump.

Wow, hubby only got 1/2 of his pump killed, and his EF is 37%, what is yours with 3/4 of it gone?

I don't know what my EF is, but I can handle one flight of stairs, or about one block walking at a normal pace. In 1967 at the age of 22, I had to lie flat on my back for twenty minutes for the ARMY to get a low enough BP number for me to ETS the ARMY. I felt better before the Quad, was stronger could do more, hard telling how they hooked up the plumbing. I lucky my computers are in me cave (basement) that's how I get my exercise, the stairs. Jim

You had the quad at the same time of your heart attack, right? Sounds like the heart muscle was damaged during the heart attack, that would the the culprit. How long ago was it?

No they put in two Stents, and sent me home to see if I would live, 30 days later they did the Quad, one year after that they installed the Medtronic single chamber defib, with the defective leads, it's been 18 months of waiting for the leads to short out or stick out of my navel.

The moral of the story, Don't take four days to get to the OR, after you have a heart attack! Jim

I had no pain, odd,s are the Diabete, mask the pain. Just kept getting weaker and weaker, had to have someone drive me to the OR, for me that's a sign of death...
