new ASV machine, can't get to sleep
Just got a new ASV machine to rent and I've tried it the last 3 nights. But I can't get to sleep! If I wear my sleep appliance then my mouth is kept too far open and my lips flutter and wake me up as I start to try and drift off (no mouth taping for me think you). I tried it with just my TMJ mouthguard and I didn't have problems with the lip fluttering. But I haven't been able to relax or get comfortable and fall asleep. I am using the scents thru the air intake. But I am a stomach sleeper and can't use my nasal pillows so it is difficult to get comfortable. I've alread 'failed' CPAP and tried Bi-level and VPAP at home (both made me sleep worse than w/o a machine). Wondering if this won't work either. Is there a way for me to tell anything on my machine without having to download things? Since I'm not sure if this is going to work I'm not planning on buying the software. Do I have access to anything on the screen? Right now it only tells me what I am currently doing (pressures, leak etc) but only if I am looking at it. I am also wondering if my pressures might be to high for me to get used to since there is no ramp on this machine. The pressures are in the 20's. I just dunno what to do. So far I just can't fall asleep with this thing. I am slightly paniky at the pressures. Help!!!

Do you know what the Rx was - and who set up the machine?was New-to-BiPAP (won't let me use my username...) wrote:Just got a new ASV machine to rent and I've tried it the last 3 nights. Why not? Which mask (be specific) is it?That's putting the cart before the horses, because you need the software now, when you're trying to get the therapy to work.I've alread 'failed' CPAP and tried Bi-level and VPAP at home (both made me sleep worse than w/o a machine). And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.
