Masks - Tight or Loose?

Post by sheltie » Fri Dec 19, 2008 6:58 pm

Is there a best way to insure masks don't leak (assuming it was properly fit in the first place), tight or loose?

You have to get it just right not too tight and not too loose. Unfortunately that appears to be different for everyone, we all have different faces and our machine pressures are different. Only experimentation until you hit the sweet spot will find it. With me that sweet spot seems to vary every night also. So I get to start experimenting every night at the beginning. One good thing is that I know what it feels like and I can usually get it right fairly quickly now. It took me about 3 weeks before I started zeroing in on the sweet spot. Don't worry you will find it.

The activa mask you have should be tight at the forhead piece and loose at your upper lip. If the activa is too tight, it will leak! The quattro mask you have is going to be snug all around.
Work with adjusting the dial or angle adpator on the masks. Both of these masks should have come with a DVD or CD rom in the package. These are excellent when trying to figure out how to adjust these masks.
