next doctor visit

Post by library teacher » Fri Dec 19, 2008 7:55 am

I go back to the doctor for a follow up visit in a few weeks. I have just had by follow up titration. I was very disappointed when I received my appointment card in the mail and have been assigned a nurse practictioner. It seems the doctor was good enough for my inital appointment, but not for the follow up. I'm sure the np will probably say the same thing as he would, but ......... thoughts?

The NP's I have met are very good and will prob give you more time than the doc will. Give him/her a chance. Write ALL your Q? down before your appt.

I use a NP as my regular "doctor". I really like her because she explains what is going on better than most doctors. My experiences with NPs has been mostly very good. Give the NP a chance and if you're not satisfied after the appointment, then take action to see the doctor soon!

Thanks for your replies. As I have mentioned on another post, for the most part I have been treated very well by doctor and DME and hopefully the feedback from the NP will be the same results.

I am an NP. NP's are excellent healthcare providers. I think you will have a good experience. Let us know how it goes. I also use an NP within my PCP's practice as my primary care provider.
